Frank Farmer  > Day-Trips > Annadel 2004
Dayhike at Annadel State Park, with Lisa and Karen. Nice trails, great company, lots of different plant communities. Getting along with mountain bikers.

Frank Farmer > Not a lizard ... it's a salamander. It's an amphibian! See the black obsidian close by? This area was a source of material for arrow points and cutting tools, for the indigeneous peoples.
Frank Farmer > It was pretty cool as we started out. It got warmer as we left the forest.
Frank Farmer > Junction with Steve's S Trail and Warren Richardson Trail. We're heading for Lake Ilsanjo, but via a less direct route. Annadel Park has changed, and Steve's S Trail no longer goes to the summit of Bennett Mountain. (BUMMER!)
Frank Farmer > On the Warren Richardson Freeway. Steve's S Trail is one of the few trails where bikes are not allowed. We saw lots of bikes on our hike, but fortunately all the riders were very considerate and polite.
Frank Farmer > See the deer? Under the tree, in the shade.
Frank Farmer > Lots of spider webs, in a dewy sun-filled grassy glade.
Frank Farmer > Breaking out into the sunshine! It would be nice like this, most of the day.
Frank Farmer > Lisa has put away her parka and is enjoying the sunshine.
Frank Farmer > First view of Lake Ilsanjo. We've turned onto the North Burma Trail.
