Frank Farmer > The hills were dotted with digger pines and oaks. Non-native locust trees were found in the valley floors. I was fascinated by the geometry of the folds coming off this nearby ridge.

Frank Farmer > Looking out toward Antioch. Just beyond the town is Sherman Island, and the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. Wind mill electric generators are visible in the distance at the left. Sherman Island is the southern-most toe of Sacramento County, reaching out to touch the Bay Area.
Frank Farmer > Another view of Antioch and Sherman Island, across the San Joaquin RIver. Also in view is the Hwy 160 bridge, offering a spectacular tour of the Delta. This route to Sacramento is fine if you have time and an appreciation of winding levee roads and broad river vistas. Otherwise, take Hwy 12 and get over to I-5.
