Frank Farmer  > Day-Trips > Crystal Range 2006
Dayhike to Twin Lakes and Island Lake with Rich and the County Hikers. Sunny, clear, warm day. Plenty of water in the creeks, but not enough to cause problems. Pleasantly surprised that this popular hiking area was not overwhelmed with people. This allowed us to enjoy a fine day with excellent company, in a very scenic area.

Frank Farmer > We've all reached Island Lake and now it's time for lunch. I ate quickly and headed out to a small dam at one of the lake's outlets. Everyone else is out on this little point in the center.
Frank Farmer > Bree checks out the dam.
Frank Farmer > An old rusty gate structure, under water.
Frank Farmer > Zoomed in on our group
Frank Farmer > Willow shrub growing out of the dam.
Frank Farmer > Zoomed out on the dam, with water flowing over
Frank Farmer > Water over the dam.
Frank Farmer > Folks are starting to stir. Howdy, Mary Anne, Bree, and Karen took off before everyone else, allowing Howdy and Mary Anne to go home early. Bree and Karen got separated from the fast-walking pair, and ended up having an adventurous time returning to the trailhead.
Frank Farmer > Waterflow. I tried shooting a long exposure on the flowing water, but had problems getting it all to work in the extremely bright light. There is a lot of stuff that I don't know about with my camera.
