Dayhike at Sugarloaf State Park. Cloudy start, rainy finish. Challenging trek with old and new friends. This place deserves a return visit, in better weather.

Frank Farmer > Getting set for a group shot -- They are telling me to get the freaking lead out and get in the picture!

Frank Farmer > Group photo on Bald Mountain -- Karen, Lisa, Jason, John, Frank (me). I am a bit heavy set, but not as bad as it looks. The Michelin Man effect is due to the strong wind.

Frank Farmer > John and Karen -- Checking out the sign board. Pondering a future visit, to try the view another day.

Frank Farmer > It is really, really cloudy -- Up to now, it has not really rained very much. It has just misted pretty consistently.

Frank Farmer > Seeking shelter from the wind -- We knew there was a picnic table on the Gray Pines Trail, so we decided to head there for lunch.

Frank Farmer > Three-way junction sign -- These things can be confusing. Sure, it's easy to see from where you are. We decided the right way to go was the High Ridge Trail. It made sense at the time.

Frank Farmer > Other side of the Three-way junction sign -- Bald Mountain is where we came from, Gray Pines is where we planned to go. We did go there, but after a scenic side trip.

Frank Farmer > Mossy trees, along the High Ridge Trail
