Just before this picture, however, we got some startling news. The ranger located WLD at his car and informed him of a family emergency. He and JDSmiling will not be able to join us. We are bummed out, but wish them well and send them off with our best wishes.

A backpacking trip over Mono Pass, in the Eastern Sierra. A group of So Cal and No Cal friends, headed for Pioneer Basin. Who will actually do the hike? How far would they get? Will they get rained out?
