Frank Farmer  > Day-Trips > Cool Auburn Trail 2007
Dayhike with friends on the Quarry Trail along the Middle Fork of the American River, between Auburn and Cool. A frosty day with temps below freezing, but a good day nevertheless. We made a couple of side trips, which added to the enjoyment and showed us more of what this area has to offer. Thanks to Karen for organizing this fun hike! Here are some photos from the same hike in 2005 with Bonnie and Jean. For another view, check out photos from Cassandra and others to come.

Frank Farmer > We ran into a solo runner, who jogged up this steep trail and back down on a road. John decided to check it out.
Frank Farmer > Looking down on the limestone plant. I headed down ahead of the group, who waited for John to finish his loop.

Frank Farmer > River view. We all made it out safely and we all had a great time. This was a fun hike, even though it was cold. I brought a JetBoil stove and made hot chocolate and tea, which several of us enjoyed during our lunch break. It was an enjoyable day, one to remember.
