Dayhike to Roundtop Lake and Winnemucca Lake, with Lisa, Maria and Jeff. We had a fun hike, and managed to avoid most of the serious rain that began to fall, as we completed the loop.

Frank Farmer > In the mean time, the clouds are gathering. We've already felt a few sprinkles. There is rain to the south and west. But is it going to rain where we want to go? We're still pretty much in the sunshine.

Frank Farmer > Beautiful open country. Elephant's Back and Lake Winnemucca are in the view. We are on a short stretch of the Tahoe-Yosemite Trail. The Pacific Crest Trail passes just behind Elephant's Back.

Frank Farmer > Elephant's Back lies ahead. First we must pass Winnemucca Lake. Will we make it up there today? Will the weather hold out? Will we hold out?
