Not a lizard ... it's a salamander. It's an amphibian! See the black obsidian close by? This area was a source of material for arrow points and cutting tools, for the indigeneous peoples.

Oak tree. Many of the trees here seemd to have old snow damage. Low elevation plants like these aren't accustomed to snowfall, which occurs every few years.
