Three Passes 1982
A strenuous, epic High Sierra loop backpack trip with three strangers in 1982. We met at Florence Lake and discovered we were all Geography students at Sonoma State University. I was planning a solo backpack trip to Goddard Canyon, while the three gents were undertaking a loop backpack trip over three passes, Pine Creek Pass, Italy Pass, and Selden Pass. It sounded awesome, so I joined them. We all made it back in one piece, hiking about 45 miles in six days, with about 8600 feet gain/loss. I took these photos with slide film in my Kodak 110 Instamatic camera. I don't recall the names of these three fellows, but they were great hiking buddies. I hope their lives have turned out as well as this backpacking trip did.
